Course Summary

In this pre-recorded class you'll learn how to start a basic conversation with someone in Spanish.

You'll learn 5 key questions:

  • ¿Cómo estás? - How are you
  • ¿Cómo te llamas? - What's your name?
  • ¿Quién es él/ella? - Who is he/she?
  • ¿De dónde eres? - Where are you from?
  • ¿De dónde es él/ella? - Where is he/she from?


What is the lesson flow?

The teacher will share a class recording with Google Slides and Nearpod.

You do not need a Google or Nearpod account. The teacher will share links that you can access. 

*If you want to make your own copies of the Google Documents, you will need a Gmail account, but that is not required.

In the vocabulary lesson, you'll learn 5-10 words at a time.

  • You'll take notes on the vocabulary.
  • Then we'll do pronunciation practice with the words.
  • You'll do an activity to practice the new words.

You will also learn:

  • Spanish greetings - Saying hello, goodbye, see you later, etc.
  • How to be polite: please, thank you, you're welcome, sir, ma'am

COURSE INSTRUCTOR


Nikki is the owner of Skillabration and has been teaching since 2005. She has a bachelor's in Spanish and Masters in Education with a focus in Spanish.

She has taught all levels of Spanish from ages 3-Adult. This course is best for ages 11 and up.

She learned Spanish in school and became fluent when she studied abroad in San Sebastián, Spain in 2003. She's also traveled to many cities in Mexico since she was 7 years old.

Nikki is from the suburbs of Chicago and has a Midwestern work ethic.

Students say she is patient, encouraging and fun.

Her goal is to spread a love of language learning to 10,000 students by 2027.
